RTF Commander focuses on command staff operations and allows key leaders to manage Rescue Task Force Operations. This program is taugh before the RTF Operator course, allowing command staff to practice skills during actual RTF Operator training evolutions.
Disaster management is a fully encompassed skill set, so we will also focus on other disater events such as natural disasters and mass casualty events such as an active shooter.
This 8-hour course teaches participants how to analyze potential threats in their area, assess available resources, and create a response plan that will save lives.
Features of a response plan covered in the course include:
- Communicating effectively during disasters.
- Mutual aid and interoperability.
- Managing resources such as supplies, medications and equipment.
- Triage and transportation strategies and challenges.
- Patient tracking and evacuation.
This program has been discounted through the assistance of Newton Falls Joint Fire District.
